The RYA Start Yachting Sail Cruising Course is a fantastic way to give yacht sailing a try.

This course is aimed at the complete novice who would like to try sailing for the first time before signing up to do Competent Crew or something similar.

The course gives an introduction to gaining sailing skills and manoeuvres which will give you a basic understanding of yacht handling under sail and relevant background knowledge to later move up the ladder to more advanced sailing skills.

Running over 2 days over the weekend or during the week (usually Monday and Tuesday if during the week) by friendly instructors who understand you may be apprehensive. It brings students with no sailing experience into this amazing sport. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment and we are sure you will not want to leave at the end of the course.

By the end of the course you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and be aware of safety on board.

Holders of the Start Yachting certificate can go on to complete the RYA Competent Crew course in a reduced time of three days or two weekend.

You can book the course directly on our website and make the course fee payment by credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer. Just click Book Now button and you will be lead to a page where you can choose dates, number of participants, and fill other necessary information. We will send you a confirmation email together with joining instruction once the payment goes through.

Alternatively, you can charter the whole yacht for yourself and take your RYA Start Yachting course in a more private and relaxed way with your friends or family (up to total 5 students onboard). The cost for that is shown in the course dates section above.

This course is ideal as a gift experience and like all our courses we can provide a gift voucher.

No experience is required. You will learn to sail as a team and get the general feel of what it entails to sail with the wind.

If you need a flight to Malta International, the airport code is MLA. There is only one airport.

On arrival at Malta airport, there is a kiosk at the exit from the airport where you can pre pay the taxi to the boat. The cost of this is usually 25 Euro. The taxi drivers speak good English.

Cheaper transport option than taxi would be use taxi app such as: Bolt, Ecab, Cool. There are plenty of taxi connected to these apps.

You will have a short safety brief on arrival to familiarise yourself with the boat and meet your crew mates!
